I have only a few gripes with this: the backgrounds were very muted and lacked contrast and some of the animation was kind of hard to read. Besides that, this was super neat! It reminds me a bit of that parody comic with Undertale x One-Punch Man.

kehny responds:

You know I just found out that comic existed.
You make a solid point, the animation did get too fast at times, and the backgrounds could've had stronger precence. Thanks for reviewing, I apreciate it!

Cons
- It's nothing more than a compilation of other artists' work and clips from the shows.
- You censored the nude pictures even though porn is allowed on Newgrounds.
- The music is droll and uninspired.
- The music is then poorly mashed together with annoying nonsense.
- Poor video editing effects.

Pros
- It has Raven in it.

The scene where Tails starts flying was really disturbing. His voice actor did a good job, though!

kalabor106 responds:

Yeah, EyesaDrift is a great voice actor.

If Attack on Titan was this good, I'd actually watch it.

Also, I absolutely love this. The animation and comedic timing is absolutely spot-on.

"As if they get all happy all of sudden!"
"All of *a* sudden."

Aaand you get 5 stars.

TylerLandis responds:

The voice acting really reminds me of 90s cartoons like "The Critic" for some reason.

ARRGH. You missed the ball at the very end!

BATMAN: Ah, man, I thought you were gonna...with the lasers or something.

SUPERMAN: Naw, man. :D

BATMAN: Yeah, we all cool---

BLAST WITH LASERS.

Smash cut to black.

It's spiffy.
It's nifty.
It's plifty.

5/5

Sketchead responds:

Thanks Alex! You're a dliffy man yourself!

I can tell that you are an animator just starting out and that's perfectly fine. That doesn't mean that you suck; it means you are novice and learning.

The dependency on tweening for the character's entire body is very jaunting. If a part of a character's body doesn't move in real life when doing something as simple as talking, don't do that (all the time). Limited animation isn't always a bad thing. Save body-jiggling while talking for when you're trying to woo ladies at the disco.

Make the characters' bodies more proportionate to their heads, as well.

The shoe also has no hole to put your foot in. Does that still make it a shoe then? What DOES constitute a shoe?

======================================

When Matt gets hit by the non-shoe shoe, it is very underwhelming because there was no power in the shoe's momentum and no overarching reaction to being hit. Here's a little tip about creating powerful (therefore funnier) impacts:

(Hopefully this will work out well when I post this comment.)

When your projectile is flying through the air, keep it running at a consistent speed in an arcing motion. The projectile should be going as fast as the arm that threw it (due to kinetic physics and stuff). Keep the stretch of the projectile mostly uniform at this point for REASONS I WILL REVEAL LATER :O.

What's this?? The projectile has elongated! I DON'T BELIEVE IT.

Well, believe it, buster.

When you stretch the projectile where the projectile is JUST touching the epicenter of its target, you create a more powerful impact. Keep in mind that when you stretch any object, it's good manners to maintain the volume of that object so that the cartoon seems quote-unquote "realistic". It has something to do with the Rules of Animation Tex Avery made up one day while smoking marijuanas with Egoraptor. Maybe its because a fast motion that has subtly slowed down at the point of interest creates more drama? I dunno.

Also, keep any squashing and stretching to ones and at most twos. A projectile will loose its solidity if the exposure is extended for too long.

------------------------------------------------------------

But that's just one part of this equation! What about the REACTION to being hit by a shoe with no hole?

I suppose it would be a purse then, wouldn't it?

Upon getting smacked with the purse, Matt just disappears in the blink of an eye. That may be close to what would happen in real life, but this is CARTOONS dammit! Think exaggerated! Quit watchin' Family Guy where all the characters do is talk and motion with their hands occasionally. These are cartoons! It's best to over-act (and overreact) than to under-act.

Man, these kids these days don't watch enough Looney Tunes, I tell you what. >;(

First thing, draw out the duration of Matt getting struck. Not falling; getting struck. Make it clear what happened to Matt and what happened to the shoe. So if the shoe hit Matt in the head, maybe the shoe could've implanted inside Matt's precious face, knocking him backwards off-screen. The only way the audience would be able to see and more importantly RECOGNIZE that the shoe being implanted into Matt's face is too slow THAT part of the action down. Then, through easing out, Matt falls off-screen.

Second thing: overlapping action. Say for instance, someone punches you super hard. What's the first thing that moves? The epicenter of where the cunt punched you. That means that whatever direction the punch was directed (probably down and out), the part of the body that was punched first will be the leading part of the body and the first part of the body to hit the ground.

So if you were punched in the gut, the backside of your gut would hit the ground first and the rest of your body would follow suit. If you were punched in the head, your head would go down first and the rest of the body would follow. If you were punched in the lower leg, causing you to trip, the head would be the last thing to hit the ground.

The more dangly and flaccid the part of the body AND the farther it is from the epicenter, the later it will react TO the epicenter. Matt's hair and arms are going to follow the overarching motion of Matt falling down and to the right. That means that his arms and hair will follow that curve. To pronounce this curve, you could have Matt's arms splayed forward after getting hit and as he falls. Hair that is as poofy and presumably as produced as Matt's will also follow this momentum arc mostly uniformly depending on if that's how the character is - He probably uses a lot of hair gel.

Oh and another thing. It is okay to give your own personal flourishes on what you think a character would be by small things like this. An example could be that if in the script Edd is holding a can of cola and then he slips on a puddle of ice, you could have him butterfingering the cola as he slips and falls even if it wasn't in the script (with the director's permission of course).

BAM.

Lesson concluded.

P.S. I'm one of the musicians for the Eddsworld movie. I wasn't expecting to see another person related to the Eddsworld movie on the NG review board.

AnimationCrave responds:

haha thanks, thats alot of info but i read it all lol i actually think the guys from the eddsworld movie blocked my email because a couple of years back i sent like 5-7 crappy animation tests to them and i think i got on their nevres and they kinda just stopped responding, so i dont think they got the email i recently sent them with this animation in it. hopefully they didnt block me because i really want them to see this! lol

Truly a fantastic and virtuosic display of visual arts at its finest. The dramatic comedy was akin to Shakespearean greats. Would rate 10/5 if possible.
